Vitaponix — nextgen nutrients

Buyer's guide

How to choose the best hydroponic nutrients.

Six things to check before you buy a base nutrient or bloom booster — and how the Vitaponix line answers each one, from cutting to harvest.

What to look for

01

Solubility and chelation

Base nutrients should dissolve fully and stay in solution. Chelated micronutrients stay available across the pH range hydroponic systems run at (5.8–6.2), so the plant can actually take them up.

02

No bulking agents

Fillers add weight to the bottle, not to the crop. Look for a clean guaranteed analysis — VitaBase lists N 20%, P₂O₅ 20% plus chelated Fe, Mn, B, Cu, Mo and Zn, with no filler chemistry.

03

A clear stage-by-stage program

The best line tells you exactly what to add each week. Vitaponix publishes a week-by-week ml/L chart for veg and bloom, built for RO water.

04

Structural minerals covered

Hydroponic plants can't pull calcium or silicon from soil. A complete line includes both — VitaCal (1 ml/L) and VitaSilica (0.25 ml/L) all cycle long.

05

Bloom shift, not just more NPK

In heavy flowering the ratio has to change, not just the dose. VitaBulk (4–5 ml/L, bloom weeks 4–5) moves the NPK profile toward potassium and phosphate.

06

Works in every medium

A good feed works in soil, coco and hydro at the same dose, so you don't need a different line when you change system.

FAQ

Hydroponic nutrient questions

What are the best base nutrients for hydroponics?

Look for a highly soluble, chelated NPK base with trace elements and no bulking agents, backed by a clear feeding chart. VitaBase is built this way and is used at 1–4 ml per litre through the whole grow cycle.

Do I need a separate bloom booster?

In heavy flowering the plant needs more potassium and phosphate. In the Vitaponix program VitaBulk takes over from VitaBase in bloom weeks 4–5 at 4–5 ml per litre, then VitaBud and VitaFinish run the last two weeks.

Do I need calcium and silica in hydroponics?

Yes. Hydro and coco plants can't draw calcium or silicon from soil. VitaCal (1 ml/L) and VitaSilica (0.25 ml/L) are used throughout the cycle.

Can I use the same nutrients in soil, coco and hydro?

Yes. The Vitaponix feeding schedule is built for soil, coco and hydroponic systems, and the dose stays the same in every medium.

How should I mix hydroponic nutrients?

Add each product to the water separately and mix well before adding the next. Never combine concentrates undiluted, and keep pH between 5.8 and 6.2.

Where can I buy Vitaponix in the US, UK, Australia, Spain or Germany?

Vitaponix is sold through approved local distributors and retailers. Use the supplier finder to see who serves your country, or contact Vitaponix International if there is no local supplier yet.
