PhotoMould & mildew
A fungal disease that causes grey, fuzzy mold on flowers, fruits, and leaves. It spreads rapidly in humid, poorly ventilated environments and can devastate entire crops.
Looks like this
- Grey, fuzzy mold on flowers, buds or fruit
- Brown, water-soaked spots on leaves
- Soft, rotting plant tissue with a musty smell
Solve it with Vitaponix
Our nutrients don't kill pests or mould — they keep plants strong while you follow the fix below.
How to fix it
- Remove all infected plant material immediately and dispose of it outside the grow area
- Lower humidity and increase air circulation through the canopy
- Apply an organic fungicide such as potassium bicarbonate to surrounding plants
Why it happens
- High humidity (>60%) combined with poor airflow
- Dense canopy trapping moisture inside flowers
- Damaged or wounded plant tissue providing entry points
Prevent it
- Follow the official feeding chart humidity targets for each flowering week
- Defoliate to open up the canopy and improve airflow
- Avoid overhead watering and spraying during late flower
Official feeding chart
- Humidity, first 3 weeks of flower
- 65 – 75%
- Humidity, rest of flower
- 55 – 60%
- Day and night temperature
- 24 – 28 °C
Doses and targets come from the official Vitaponix feeding chart. Vitaponix nutrients are plant nutrition, not pesticides or fungicides.
