New growth is distorted and curled, with brown necrotic spots on leaf tips and edges. Roots become stunted and fruit may develop blossom end rot.
Looks like this
- Curled, distorted new growth
- Brown necrotic spots on leaf tips and edges
- Blossom end rot on fruiting plants
Solve it with Vitaponix
How to fix it
- Supplement with a chelated Cal-Mg product
- Improve transpiration with steady airflow and moderate humidity
- Check and balance the rest of the nutrient profile
Why it happens
- Low calcium in the feed (especially in coco and RO water setups)
- High humidity reducing transpiration and Ca movement
- Excess potassium or magnesium causing antagonism
Prevent it
- Always use a Cal-Mg supplement when growing in coco or with RO water
- Follow the official feeding chart humidity targets for each flowering week
- Keep airflow strong over the canopy
Official feeding chart
- Target pH (official chart)
- 5.8 – 6.3
- VitaCal
- 1 ml/L, weeks 3–8
- Water temperature
- 18 – 21 °C
Doses and targets come from the official Vitaponix feeding chart. Vitaponix nutrients are plant nutrition, not pesticides or fungicides.
